The Bishop Louis Reicher Catholic School Library operates on a regular schedule designed to support students at every grade level.

PreK students visit the library for storytime and activities that introduce them to the joy of books and reading. Students in kindergarten through fifth grade visit the library with their classes to participate in age-appropriate library skills lessons, check out books, and enjoy independent reading.

The primary goals of the library program are to foster a lifelong love of reading, develop information-literacy skills, and encourage curiosity, creativity, and thoughtful exploration among all students.

Literacy, research, and information skills are often taught in collaboration with classroom teachers and connected to topics students are studying in class. Teachers may also work with the librarian to schedule research projects, literature-appreciation lessons, and other curriculum-based activities.

Middle school classes visit the library as needed for instructional activities and research projects. Middle school students may also use the library independently according to school procedures and availability.

The Bishop Louis Reicher Catholic School Library provides resources that foster a love of reading and support the school’s academic curriculum and Catholic mission.

The library offers print and digital resources for students, faculty, and staff. Students use library resources to complete assignments, conduct research, explore new ideas, and select from a wide variety of recreational reading materials.

Through the library program, Bishop Reicher students are encouraged to become critical thinkers, creative problem-solvers, responsible and informed users of information, and lifelong learners.
