    • At Bishop Reicher, families play an important role in the life of our school. Through volunteering, service, donations, and participation in school activities, parents and guardians help strengthen our programs, support faculty and staff, and create meaningful experiences for students.

The Lend a PAW (Parents at Work Serving) program encourages every family to contribute to the Bishop Reicher community by completing PAWS Points during the school year.

      Volunteer Opportunities
    • Basic PAWS Points Requirement

Each Bishop Reicher family is required to complete a minimum of 20 PAWS Points between August 1 and June 1 through approved volunteer service, donations, or school-support activities.

PAWS Points may be completed by a parent, guardian, or grandparent on behalf of the family.

At least one parent or guardian from each family must maintain current Ethics and Integrity in Ministry certification to participate in volunteer opportunities involving students.

    • PAWS Points for Parents Receiving Tuition Assistance from Bishop Reicher

Families who receive tuition assistance are required to complete 40 PAWS Points during the school year.

      Of the 40 required points:

      • At least 20 points must be earned through direct service to the school
      • The remaining points may be earned through approved service, donations, or school-support activities
      • At least 20 points must be completed by January 1

This additional service requirement reflects the shared commitment of families and the school to supporting the Bishop Reicher community.

At least one parent or guardian from each family must maintain current Ethics and Integrity in Ministry certification to participate in volunteer opportunities involving students.

    • Unfulfilled PAWS Points Requirement

Families who do not complete their required PAWS Points by June 1 will be charged $10 for each incomplete point.

      The maximum fee is:

      • $200 for families required to complete 20 PAWS Points
      • $400 for families receiving tuition assistance and required to complete 40 PAWS Points

The fee will be added to the family’s FACTS account and must be paid in full. An unpaid balance may result in a financial hold being placed on the family’s account and the student’s academic record.

    • How to Log PAWS Points

Families are responsible for recording completed PAWS Points in the FACTS Family Portal. School administration reviews submissions throughout the year to help families monitor their progress toward the annual requirement.

      • Log in to your FACTS Family Portal account.
      • From the navigation menu, select Family.
      • Use the drop-down menu to choose the parent’s name.
      • Click Add.
      • Enter the date you volunteered or donated an item.
      • Enter the number of PAWS Points earned in the box labeled Hours.
      • For Description, click the drop-down menu, select [type a custom value], and type a brief description of how you earned the points.
      • (Optional) Add details in the Notes section.
      • You may include the name of the person who oversaw the volunteer opportunity or the donation, if known, in the Verified By box
      • Click Save to update your family’s service record.
    • EIM Compliance Requirement

Before participating in any on-campus volunteer activity involving direct interaction with students, parents, guardians, and other campus volunteers must complete Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) certification. Certification must be renewed every three years.

To apply for or renew EIM certification, please visit the school’s Ethics and Integrity in Ministry page (use link below).

Once certified, volunteers will receive a personalized identification button that must be worn while serving at campus events to show that they are currently EIM compliant.
